Our goal at Community Life Training is to help people learn skills that are helpful for a successful and happy life.

Patrick VanHook

President/Director

Patrick VanHook was born and bred in Wilson.  He is a graduate of Beddingfield High School and has worked in various industries including construction, airport, electrical, and septic.  The skills he has acquired have helped him become a skilled leader and instructor to others.

He had the idea of offering life skills classes for any and everyone.  This has been a dream of his for years now, and he is so excited to be in a place to offer these classes.  His work in various industries has increased his interest in learning differing skills, and he loves to help others learn as well.  In his free time he enjoys reading and winning smoking competitions.  Patrick will serve as the Executive Director and main instructor at CLT.

The VanHooks are excited about this opportunity to serve our community and to learn from others as well!

Lindsay VanHook

Secretary/Treasurer

Curriculum Coordinator

Patrick's wife, Lindsay, is a former  teacher who now stays at home to home school their children.  She loves cooking, baking, and sharing her skills with others.  When she is not chasing a toddler, singing preschool songs, or teaching a teenager, she enjoys reading and connecting with other moms.

Lindsay has a M.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. CLT is a great opportunity to not only learn new skills, but to share what she knows with others.  Lindsay will serve as the Secretary/Treasurer, Curriculum Coordinator, and as an instructor at CLT.

Patrick and Lindsay have three children.  Abi is a talented musician and artist who is in high school.  Elijah is our big "helper" of four years old, and Enoch our up and coming toddler.

Chris Dunn

Vice President

Chris has been in Wilson nearly his entire life. With a background in education and leadership, the goals of Community Life Training coincide with his passion and experience. He has worked as an educator and leader in secondary and higher education for over a decade and has a Ph.D. in organizational leadership. Bringing classes at no cost to improve the lives of people in the community is something he is excited to help plan and offer. He is married to Tanya and they enjoy their pets Mikey, Kirk, and Kira (cat and dogs).

Tanya is also a native to Wilson. She has a background in nursing with extensive experience in various medical contexts and volunteers regularly at Wilson County Rescue Squad. Currently, she works to provide home health care in this region of NC and the ER at Wilson Medical Center.

The Dunns look forward to contributing to the mission of CLT to “help people learn skills that are helpful for a successful and happy life.” Chris will be serving as Vice President on the board and helping with instruction for applicable subjects.

Will lives in Bailey with Angela, his wife of 14 years. They have two cats, David and Patches. Angela and Will enjoy yardwork, gardening and traveling.

Luke LaHay

Board Member

Luke LaHay was raised on a cattle farm in Wilson County and grew up calling Wilson home. While he lived in Raleigh for several years, he was ready and eager to move back home when it came time to raise his family. Luke currently works in his family business helping clean drain lines and video commercial plumbing systems. On the side, you can find Luke renovating properties in town with his wife, Rebekah. Luke attends Wilson PCA, the church that he grew up in.

Luke is married to the love of his life, Rebekah and has two boys, William and Teddy, and a baby girl, Molly Jane. In his free time, Luke enjoys playing with his boys, taking them on adventures to the park, reading various books, and overall spending time with family.

Because of his upbringing, Luke has always had a love for Wilson and is excited to serve his community as a board member of an organization that strives to teach valuable life skills.
